Our Frederikstraat property has undergone major renovations in 2022 and 2023! The process was finished in Februari 2023.  It is now rented out. The goal of the renters is to develop it into a boutique hotel.

Architect Ronny Lobo, whom afterwards also became our new CEO, has made a beautiful design that fits with modern day community style living. The tall building is be divided into several comfortable 1 bedroom studio-apartments, each with their own ensuite modern bathroom. From the shared entrance you enter the open kitchen and livingroom, this space connects the apartments. This concept paves the way for a social co-living space, making it easy to connect with others. Part of the construction was to include a pool area in the backyard.

The location is walking distance to the hip and happening restaurants, bars, shops and co-working spaces in Ser'i Otrobanda, Punda, Scharloo Abou and Pietermaai. It is also at close proximity to the hospital, the cruise terminal and several surrounding hotels and universities. Making it an ideal home for people working or staying there.

Willemstad city center and surrounding districts are in a notable uplift! Otrobanda and especially  Ser'i Otrobanda have become local hotspots, due to several private and community efforts. To contribute to this positive change, Stadsherstel has prioritized the restoration of the buildings on the Frederikstraat, which started in 2022.
